Alheim, October 9, 2010 – Kirchner Solar Group GmbH was today awarded the 2010 German Solar Prize for its work and involvement in the photovoltaic sector.

The German Solar Prize has been presented since 1994 by the European Association for Renewable Energy (EUROSOLAR) to companies, institutions and individuals that have made outstanding contributions in terms of the use of renewable energies.

In the Industrial Enterprises category, the panel praised the Kirchner Solar Group for its holistic, progressive concept and, in particular, its social involvement. In addition to its business operations in the photovoltaic systems and solar tracking systems sector, the company has been involved in longterm education and environmental awareness activities for several years. For instance, special themed weeks on environmental issues are held with municipal kindergartens and school groups in the region.
