Only one month after foundation: subsidiary Kirchner Solar Hellas with strong order situation
Alheim-Heinebach, Germany, March 15, 2012 – Kirchner Solar Hellas, the newly founded Greek subsidiary of Kirchner Solar Group, shows an exceptional business performance despite the currently difficult market situation. According to the company, the comfortable order situation is a result of the in-house developed financing solutions, many years of market and service experience as well as individual solutions tailored to specific customer requirements. With this, the solar company is continuing on its path of success.
One of the biggest customers is the agricultural trade association of Central Greece. Until June 2012 Kirchner Solar Hellas will install ten mounted solar parks on its behalf with an individual capacity of 100 kilowatt (kW). The volume of this project amounts to 2 megawatt (MW). Another assignment is already planned: the association will set up a 1-MW solar park with sonnen_system sun tracking systems of the Kirchner Solar Group.

Statement by Lars Kirchner on the current reduction of solar power subsidies
The recent cut backs on subsidies for solar power by the German Federal Government are a clear signal towards the German solar industry to embrace competitiveness and innovation even more. The PV industry has always faced fast changing regulatory conditions. These take into account that the public expects cost-efficient solar solutions and energy. Kirchner Solar Group has always met these requirements with innovation and new business ideas. Thus we have been able to achieve corporate growth of more than 1,300 percent over the last five years and to expand the international business so we already realize 50 percent of our turnover abroad.
For this reason we can look forward without concern to possible reductions of the feed-in-tariffs. With our products, solar solutions and service offerings – and especially our strong team – we are well prepared for the future. |

Kirchner Solar Hellas founded in Athens

The new company will contribute to developing and establishing specific regional solutions for the Greek solar market. Operations start with four Greek employees and the location will be opened on February 1. With 300 days of sunshine per year, Greece is one of Europe’s most appealing markets for solar companies.
With opening their subsidiary in Greece, the Kirchner Solar Group expands its international business. The company benefits from the fact that the Greek solar market is not exploited yet. By the end of 2010, only 200 Megawatts Peak of PV power were installed. One year later, this number had already grown to 600 Megawatts Peak. “With our subsidiary in Athens we want to be an active player in this attractive solar market. Plus, we also want to add local economic value”, says Lars Kirchner, founder and CEO of Kirchner Solar Group. “By now, we already generate more than 50 percent of our turnovers abroad. We will keep expanding this share, although we are also very successful in our home market.” So far, the company runs international operations in Germany, Italy, USA, Canada, Uganda and the Ivory Coast.
